Jason was called to the Bar in 2001.  He is a family law specialist.

PRACTICE

Jason acts and advises in all areas of financial relief relating to marriage, civil partnership, cohabitation and applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989. He has considerable experience of cases with an international element, substantial assets, complex corporate structures and those involving tracing and freezing of assets.  Jason is increasingly instructed in cases where the court’s jurisdiction is in question and the issue of “forum conveniens” needs to be determined.

Jason regularly appears in the High Court in matters relating to the international movement of children, including Child Abduction, Brussells II Revised Regulation, Wardship and Inherent Jurisdiction, Forced Marriage and Abandonment/Stranded Spouses.  He also appears in the Court of Protection.

His public law children work has involved the most demanding cases in the High Court, including serious sexual abuse, factitious illness disorder and non-accidental injury resulting in death. He has extensive experience of all stages of care and adoption proceedings.

He continues to be instructed in private law children matters when there are particularly complex issues involved such as domestic or international relocation or an intractable dispute over contact.
