Rob George successfully defends a non-Hague abduction from Zambia

13th February 2020

In a detailed judgment, Holman J found in favour of Rob's case opposing the return of two children to Zambia. The judge expressed significant concern about the process required, whereby the court was asked to decide on a summary basis and without hearing oral evidence whether two children should be returned to Zambia, in circumstances where there were serious allegations of sexual abuse against the applicant father and where the Zambian authorities had failed to take protective measures over a prolonged period before the mother removed the children to England. The judgment can be found here.
