Ethan practises exclusively in the field of financial remedies and has conducted cases in the County Court and the High Court. He is held in the highest regard for his meticulous preparation, his forensic analysis of the papers and his skilful negotiating.
Prior to joining Harcourt, Ethan worked for one of the ‘Big 4’ accountancy firms before moving into industry to work as a business consultant for two FTSE 100 companies. Having decided to pursue a career in family law, he later joined one of the country’s premier family law solicitors as a paralegal and worked on a number of high net worth finance cases.
Ethan is a proponent of alternative dispute resolution and strongly supports its use when appropriate. He is available to provide cost-effective Early Neutral Evaluation and to act as a private FDR evaluator. He is particularly suitable for cases in which the complexity of the issues and/or the resources of the parties do not justify the expense of a senior junior, silk or retired judge.
Ethan is qualified to conduct direct access work and, in suitable cases, members of the public are able to instruct him directly without the use of a solicitor
Ethan’s practice encompasses the full range of financial remedy cases. His background in accountancy and finance gives him a particular advantage in cases involving business valuations, trusts and significant pension assets. In matters involving non-disclosure he is frequently able to draw upon his experience to help uncover undisclosed assets and income.
