Jason’s finance practice includes cohabitation disputes and applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989, and has involved cases with a considerable asset base and other complicating factors such as hidden assets, family businesses, complex pension arrangements, risk of bankruptcy, and offshore trusts, He also represents clients in international financial disputes such as those relating to maintenance obligations

Fact-finding within application by father under inherent jurisdiction. Mother’s allegations of coercive and controlling behaviour not proven.


MC v FG (Relocation) [2024] EWFC 204 (B)

Jason represented the successful Applicant Mother who applied to relocate with the children to Country Y.


Re C (Parental Alienation: Permanent Removal to Germany) [2023] EWHC 1955

Jason represented the successful Respondent Mother in applications by Father for a child arrangement order and Mother for permission to remove child to Germany. Father’s allegation of alienation not made out and Mother’s application granted.


Re Daley [2022] EWHC (Fam)

Jason, instructed by the mother, successfully argued in the High Court that reporting restrictions barring the children from being identified in media reports, should be lifted. Thus, enabling the mother, Ms Daley, to launch a public appeal for help.

Jason deals with all matters relating to the international movement of children, with particular emphasis on applications to relocate children. He also has wide experience of cases of child abduction, forced marriage and transnational abandonment.

Jason represented the successful Applicant father in an application by father seeking return of child (A) to Spain following the death of mother in the UK. Return ordered, despite child’s objections.


D (A Child), Re (Abduction: Child's Objections: Representation of Child Party) [2023] EWCA Civ 1047

Appeal by child against return order, raising issue as to role of a “solicitor-guardian” in 1980 Convention proceedings.
