"A straight-talking barrister who is very skilled."

June has built up a wide practice in the field of family law. She specialises in all aspects of child care work, representing parents and grandparents, children (through their Guardians) and local authorities. She has long experience in representing clients with emotional or mental health difficulties. She has worked a great deal with interpreters for parties whose first language is not English. She recognizes the challenge of family law for all involved, and the need for a sensitive but realistic approach in advice given to clients and in their representation.
Similarly, in ecclesiastical law, she aims to provide sensible guidance at an early stage to those often entering an unfamiliar field where advice and planning of any potential litigation is essential.
June is senior enough to deal with difficult or emotional clients who find themselves in a totally upsetting court situation. Private clients often find it difficult to discover that they cannot easily control care proceedings. Young people also need (and deserve) proper explanations as to what may be happening to them. She is realistic with drug users and alcohol abusers. She relishes the pressure of time in cases of emergency.
Chambers Directory 2020 describes June as an eminent practitioner whose ecclesiastical practice spans a wide range of matters including adaptations to church buildings, disciplinary proceedings and the sale of church treasures. She is Chancellor of the Diocese of Gloucester.
Sitting as Diocesan Chancellor in the Consistory Court, June granted a faculty for reordering within a 19th century proprietary chapel.
June is qualified to accept instructions directly from members of the public under the Direct Access Scheme in appropriate circumstances.
"An exceptionally experienced barrister who provides excellent representation and always does her best."
