She has extensive experience representing individuals from different cultural backgrounds, vulnerable clients, and those with learning disabilities, including children who require separate representation.

Maria has acted in in a wide range of public law proceedings, including non-accidental injury, neglect and fabricated/factitious illness. She has significant experience representing both parents and Local Authorities in cases involving allegations of female genital mutilation and forced marriage.

Birmingham City Council v LC & Ors [2016] EWHC 1278 (Fam)

Maria’s practice covers the spectrum of private law work, including fact-finding hearings regarding allegations of physical and emotional abuse, intractable hostility as well as specific issue disputes arising between family members. She acts for all parties, including 16.4 Guardians and children who are separately represented.

Maria has appeared in the High Court on relocation and abduction cases, as well as those involving recognition and enforcement of orders across borders.
