Edward Bennett joins Harcourt Chambers

Edward’s practice incorporates all areas of family law with particular expertise in court of protection, community care and mental health. He has a growing reputation in cases concerning international family law including the international protection of incapacitated adults and international child abduction.

Before coming to the Bar, Edward trained as a solicitor in the London and Prague offices of Allen & Overy, spent a year in the Court of Appeal as Judicial Assistant to the Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Lloyd and a further year as Legal Adviser to the Head of International Family Justice for England & Wales, the Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Thorpe.

Since January 2015, he has been General Editor of the International Family Law Journal.

At the 2015 Jordan’s Family Law Awards, he was Young Family Law Barrister of the Year.
