We are delighted to announce that Mavis Amonoo-Acquah was a winner at this year’s Black British Business Awards in the category of Professional Services: Rising Star.

The BBBAwards amplify the achievements of Black British leaders and entrepreneurs from across the UK. The awards evening spotlighted the journeys of those who continue to break barriers and redefine excellence in their chosen professional fields.

Mavis was recognised for her leadership and excellence in international family law and for being one of the UK’s few Black barristers working in surrogacy and modern parenthood.

Mavis was also recognised for her achievements and contributions to advancing equity and inclusion outside of the courtroom as a co-founder and former Vice Chair of the Black Barristers’ Network – an award-winning organisation expanding access to the legal profession.

In addition to all of the above, on the night, Mavis was lauded for her international speaking work on key family law issues, which to date, has taken her to Boston, Cape Town, and other global legal stages.

The BBBAwards evening and the night’s winners were featured in The Telegraph.
