Frances Harris Discusses Vicarious Trauma and Neurodivergence on the Staying Sane in Law Podcast

7th Jul 2026 | News, Webinars

Frances Harris recently joined Annmarie Carvalho on an episode of the Staying Sane in Law podcast to discuss the emotional impact of life at the Family Law Bar.

Hosted by the lawyer’s therapist, Annmarie Carvalho, the podcast explores the challenges faced by professionals in family law and reflects on how they can stay sane whilst practising in this emotionally fraught area.

During the conversation, Frances reflects on her career at the Family Bar, how she manages the emotional demands of her cases and what inspired her passion to develop a specialist practice in matters where neurodivergence is a key feature.

The discussion also considers how the legal profession can better support neurodivergent clients, with recognition given to the work of the Family Law Advice for the Neurodivergent Community (FLANC). There’s also a shout out for Harcourt Chambers’ brilliant clerking team and the support they provide.
