Frances Harris helps launch TV Edwards new Neurodiversity Aware Family Law Team

9th Jun 2026 | Events

Frances Harris was part of the Panel Event to help launch TV Edwards’ new Neurodiversity Aware Family Law Team. Frances participated in discussions alongside other panellists; Diana Pierags (Occupational Therapist DOTS for Children), Sarah Cockburn (Cafcass Service Manager), Claire Lux (Specialist Consultant and Advocate) and Alia Lewis (founding member of FLANC and Head of the new Team).  The panel was chaired by Deborah Piccos (children’s solicitor and DDJ and Recorder).

Frances answered questions addressing the many false narratives that can beset autistic clients. She stressed the need for professionals to remain curious as to what underlies the behaviours of neurodivergent clients, which are frequently driven by anxiety and a need for autonomy, so as to avoid misconstruing them through a neurotypical lens. Frances also touched on the use of AI by autistic clients.
