Harcourt Chambers Hosts Oxford Public Law Conference Focusing on Child Brain Injury

30th Jun 2026 | Seminars

Harcourt Chambers was delighted to welcome delegates to its popular annual Oxford Public Law Conference, this year held at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford on Friday 26 June 2026.

The conference brought together family law practitioners and leading experts from a range of disciplines to explore key issues in public law children proceedings, with a particular focus on child brain injury.

Delegates heard insightful presentations from Nick Goodwin KC, independent social worker Katrina Woods, consultant paediatric radiologist Dr Øystein Olsen, and consultant paediatric neurosurgeon Mr Jay Jayamohan. Harcourt was also pleased to welcome Mr Peter Richards, one of the world’s leading paediatric neurosurgeons and an internationally recognised expert witness.

Reflecting Harcourt’s commitment to multidisciplinary learning, the conference provided an excellent opportunity for legal and medical professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss developments at the intersection of family law and clinical practice.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Child Brain Injury Trust, supporting the charity’s invaluable work with children and families affected by childhood-acquired brain injury.

We would like to thank our speakers and everyone who attended for helping to make the conference such a memorable and worthwhile event.
