The Court of Protection team at Harcourt has experience in dealing with the most sensitive and challenging matters on the personal welfare pathway. We act for individuals, public bodies and the Official Solicitor in cases involving: capacity disputes; decisions about residence and contact; serious medical treatment including the withdrawal of life-saving treatment; arrangements for long-term contraception, sterilisation and abortion; marriage and sexual relations; and deprivations of liberty.
We recognise that cases dealing with some of the most personal decisions about an individual’s life require a range of skills. Our specialist team combines technical legal ability and the highest standards of advocacy with confidence navigating complex medical and psychological evidence, as well as an ability to work with vulnerable or distressed clients with compassion.
