Family cases involving more than one UK jurisdiction are in many instances more complicated than where international borders are involved as the rules are more complex. The International Family Law Team at Harcourt frequently acts in all forms of trans-UK family cases including:
- child abduction between England, Scotland and Northern Ireland
- recognition and enforcement of orders between England, Scotland and Northern Ireland
- placement of children from one of the home nations in secure accommodation in another
- jurisdiction disputes, particularly where the proceedings concerning the same children or matrimonial matter are proceeding in parallel in two or more of the UK jurisdictions.
