A moment of pause and reflection by Daniel Sheridan
‘Who, what, where, why and when?” – a New Year in the Family Court
Into 2025 and we launch into a new term, and we all will be pondering over…
Our work covers all areas of family law, with particular expertise in the following areas:
Daniel’s broad range of expertise is in child law, public and private. He has advocacy experience up to and including the Court of Appeal. He specialises in complex public and private law proceedings, handling a wide range of cases involving, but not limited to, intractable contact disputes, domestic abuse, substance misuse, serious non-accidental injuries, fabricated illness, and private and public law matters with international elements. He works with private clients, local authorities, parents, children, and intervenors (relatives, hospital trusts, police).
Daniel is keen to expand his private law practice bringing to bear his wealth of experience in handling factually unusual and legally challenging public law matters. In public and private law matters, Daniel often acts on behalf of children and has developed an intuitive and trusted focus on the best interests factors the Court will apply in a given case. He is always happy to receive direct requests and enquiries as to whether particular issues are matters on which he can assist.
Daniel is an elected member of the Bar Council, and is a member of the Equality, Diversity, and Social Mobility Committee. Daniel also delivers advocacy and professional ethics training on behalf of the Inner Temple’s Pupils’ Advocacy Training Programme, giving up his time to teach and support newly qualified members of the Bar on a voluntary basis.
