We are delighted to announce Harcourt Chambers Oxford University Family Law Moot 2024

6th Mar 2024 | Events

Our prestigious yearly Oxford University Family Law Moot provides a wonderful opportunity for Oxford Law Faculty students to put their legal research and advocacy skills to the test in front of our panel of judges, all of whom are highly experienced family law practitioners. This event also offers law students, the future of the Bar, a valuable chance to enhance their CV’s.

This year our moot will explore the complexities of adoption law and the concept of ‘threshold.’

The preliminary rounds, which start this week, will be held via MS Teams with the semi-final and Grand Final held in person in Oxford on 27th April. We are delighted to announce that Lord Wilson of Culworth, former Justice of the UK Supreme Court, will be judging the Grand Final.

We will be offering mini-pupillages to members of the winning team. We will also ensure that all participating students have the opportunity to speak with our barristers about a career at the Family Law Bar on the day of the Grand Final.

Harcourt Chambers is a specialist family law set of very long standing, based in London and Oxford. Our members include eight Kings Counsel and over sixty barristers at all levels. We have a wealth of experience in all areas of family law.

Our barristers look forward to seeing the students showcase their talent and to chatting with them afterwards.
