Imogen Pitts has a thriving practice encompassing children (public and private), financial remedies, international and injunction cases.

Imogen acts on behalf of clients at all stages of proceedings and is regularly instructed to appear in multi-day fact-finding and final hearings. She is experienced in dealing with vulnerable people and is particularly skilled at putting clients at ease.

Imogen completed pupillage under the supervision of Simon Miller, Ruth Cabeza and Daniel Sheridan. Prior to pupillage, Imogen attended over 600 county court hearing as a solicitor’s agent. She also acted as an ‘appropriate adult’, supporting vulnerable people detained by the police. Imogen has enjoyed volunteering with the National Centre of Domestic Violence, the Free Representation Unit and the Schools Consent Project.

When not in court, Imogen enjoys travelling and trips to the theatre.

Practice Areas

Imogen has a busy private law practice and regularly appears at all stages of proceedings under the Children Act 1989, from FHDRA to final hearing and appeal. She is often instructed in multi-day fact-finding hearings involving serious allegations of abuse, for both victims and alleged perpetrators.

Imogen is also experienced in representing applicants and respondents in injunctive proceedings under the Family Law Act 1996.

Imogen accepts instructions in all public law proceedings. She has experience representing both Local Authorities and parents at contested ICO and final hearings involving issues such as chronic neglect, mental health / substance abuse and domestic abuse.

Imogen has experience working with particularly vulnerable parents, including those with learning difficulties. She also accepts instructions from Children’s Guardians.

Imogen brings a calm and measured approach to sensitive financial proceedings. She has experience representing a variety of clients at every stage of proceedings, including at FDA, FDR and final hearing.

Imogen has appeared in the High Court on matters involving international child abduction. She accepts instructions at every stage of child abduction proceedings pursuant to The Hague Convention and Brussels II revised.

Imogen also has experience with cases involving other international elements such as Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage Protection Orders.
