Child X was removed into care after presenting with ‘a shaking type of injury’. The parents maintained that the injury occurred while X was playing in a cardboard box at a party. Witnesses maintained the same. Medical experts testified that intracranial injury in the form of subdural haemorrhage can occasionally result from a short fall. The court found that the parents were not culpable for X’s injury and permission to withdraw the care proceedings was granted.
