Edward Bennett in  MM v FF (Maintenance: Scope of EU Withdrawal Agreement) [2026] EWFC 1

8th Feb 2026 | Cases

Edward Bennett, instructed by Melanie Barnes of Keppe Rofer, represented the appellant mother in MM v FF (Maintenance: Scope of EU Withdrawal Agreement) [2026] EWFC 1.

In addition to being the first family case on the continued relevance of the EU Maintenance Regulation post Brexit, the case identified significant shortcomings in the way in which international maintenance cases, be they under the EU Maintenance Regulation or the 2007 Hague Child Support Convention, are heard, and gave guidance flowing from those shortcomings.

Also reported in Financial Remedies Journal.
