Pursuant to section 8 of the Children Act 1980 the Court can make Specific Issue Orders, which are orders made to decide significant questions in a child’s life such as matters including whether the child should undergo religious ceremonies or upbringing, the type of education or educational establishment (for instance, private or state) the child should attend, and issues such as disputed medical treatment, such as circumcision.
Members of chambers are frequently instructed to act in all of the above areas and experienced in advising on all aspects of such applications.
